East Patchogue, NY – May 20, 2022 – Hunter Shelters, manufacturers of durable, temporary, emergency and long-term shelters, will be displaying and demonstrating their sustainable emergency housing shelter system for the first time at the Reservation Economic Summit (RES) at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas on May 23-26. Hunter Shelters’ units are easy-to-build and transportable, offering a durable and energy efficient alternative to meet short-term emergency housing needs after disasters, as well as permanent structures to meet the nation’s growing housing demand. These weatherproof shelters are designed to withstand hurricane force winds, tornadoes and blunt force impacts. The construction panels are energy efficient, making them ideal for cold, desert, and tropical environments.
“Hunter Shelters offers an affordable option in a market full of expensive and inefficient alternatives. Our system is easy to transport, build, take down and reuse. The structures meet emergency sheltering needs following disasters and are also a long-term housing option. We are at the RES show to demonstrate that our products are an effective solution to the housing crisis that exists on Native American lands and in communities across the United States,” said Jack Hunter, President of Hunter Shelters.
Different from other temporary emergency shelters, Hunter Shelters’ homes are scalable and can be used for multiple purposes, including emergency housing, schools and classrooms, homeless shelters, military barracks, dormitories, restrooms, dining halls, hospitals, clinics, small businesses, offices, meeting spaces and command centers.
Three basic Hunter Shelters units can be easily transported by one tractor trailer anywhere in the USA. Shelters are easy to build and can be constructed in about four hours. Small teams can quickly assemble buildings using only screw guns, hammers, ladders and a few other common tools.
Units can be disassembled and reused, leaving behind zero carbon footprint. Hunter Shelters are eco-friendly, energy efficient and sustainable. The shelters are constructed with insulated and polyuria panels, making the inside and outside surfaces resistant to wind, extreme weather, impact, insects, vermin and mold.
“Our buildings can be constructed with solar panels and easily exist off the grid. They are well insulated for both cold and warm weather. The systems are scalable and affordable, making them ideal for many purposes,” stated Jack Hunter.
Currently there are several housing configurations available including one-, two- and three-bedroom units, all of which are customizable. All shelters include a kitchen with a refrigerator, sink and stovetop, bathrooms equipped with a sink, shower and toilet, a bedroom and living area. Other amenities include LED lighting along with a heating and air conditioning unit.
